THE LINE

THE LINE

Whitepaper

You buy the only spot on the internet that matters here. You get no outcome. You keep the tombstone.

1. The product

The Line is one slot. Not a list. Not a board. Not a feed. A single sentence — or a sentence and a link — sits in the center of the page until someone pays more.

The current holder paid the highest whole-dollar amount. The next claim is that amount plus one dollar. The first claim on an empty or seed line is five dollars. The ceiling is $999,999.

2. What you are buying

You are buying the spot. That is the entire inventory. You are not buying views, clicks, customers, or time. Nobody promises how long you stay, who sees you, or what happens after.

If the next person pays one dollar more, they take the line. Your stake is gone. There is no refund, no rebate, no pot, no payout. Stripe charges. Ten percent of what settles is pledged to named conservation groups. The rest funds the product. The game is not a jackpot.

3. What you keep — forever

Replacement is not deletion. Every dead line stays in history: the message, the amount, the hold, the author if you gave one, the link if you posted one. The permalink does not expire.

A link on a dead line still works. Clicks still count. Search engines can still find the page. That is secondary ranking — residual presence after you lose the slot. It is permanent.

You cannot edit a paid line. To change the copy, you pay again.

4. Settlement

Only a succeeded Stripe payment claims the line. An intent is not a claim. If two people pay the same price at once, one line is delivered. The loser of that race is refunded. That is the only refund.

USD only. Whole dollars. Payments otherwise final.

5. Content

A sentence, or a sentence plus a link. No chat invites. No shorteners. No sexual content. We may hide illegal or abusive lines. Hidden copy is removed from the hero. The amount and the historical fact of the payment stay.

6. Giving

Ten percent of every succeeded payment is set aside for conservation groups we name in advance. The roster is fixed for a period. It can change when the period ends.

This period:

The public bid on the line is still the full amount you paid. A gift does not buy the spot. The spot is what you paid.

Rank is what you pay. History is what you keep. Nothing else.
